Acetate salt on a peptide lot report
Acetate is another counter-ion seen on synthetic peptides. An acetate salt, a trifluoroacetate salt, and the free peptide are different molecular species. Their masses are not interchangeable, and a gross milligram figure does not become net peptide content by renaming the salt. If the report says "acetate," copy that word. If it says "free peptide," copy that instead.
Sodium and potassium adducts are a separate mass shift on a spectrum. They are not acetate. For the reading note, see the Certificate of Analysis guide. A clean chromatogram can still be a salt-heavy solid. Research use only.
