Semax, in the laboratory literature and on this catalogue, is the synthetic heptapeptide Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. The N-terminal tetrapeptide matches residues 4–7 of adrenocorticotropic hormone. The C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension is the modification authors added so the chain would survive peptidases longer than the unmodified ACTH fragment. The 10 mg shop URL is Semax 10 mg. Sequence identity is a mass, not a nickname

Seven residues is a short chain, which makes a wrong neighbour easy to file. Selank is also seven residues and also ends in Pro-Gly-Pro, but the N-terminal tetrapeptide is tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), not the ACTH fragment. Adamax is a related ACTH-sequence catalogue SKU with its own URL, Adamax 10 mg, and it is not a second name for the Semax vial. Write the one-letter string, or the shop slug, on the secondary container.

The published mass on the lot report is the identity check. Compare it with the mass calculated from Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, including any salt or terminal form the report names. What rodent papers actually measured

Eremin and colleagues, in Neurochemical Research in 2005 (PMID 16362768), measured tissue and extracellular monoamine metabolites in rodent striatum after Semax, including a rise in the serotonin metabolite 5-HIAA and an interaction with amphetamine-evoked dopamine overflow. Those are neurochemical endpoints in a defined animal preparation. They are not a cognitive outcome in people, and this catalogue does not restate the paper's activity language as a product feature.

Other Russian-language and English-language reports, associated with the Institute of Molecular Genetics work of Myasoedov, Ashmarin, and colleagues, describe the Pro-Gly-Pro extension as a stability change relative to ACTH(4–10), and they describe BDNF-related transcripts in rat brain regions. Cite the system: which region, which clock time, which readout. A transcript change in one region is not a general neuromodulation claim, and it is not an instruction.

A 2020 transcriptome paper in a rat ischemia–reperfusion model (Genes, DOI 10.3390/genes11060681) profiles gene-expression changes after the peptide in that surgical model. Gene lists from an ischemia paper stay inside that paper. They do not transfer to a lyophilized vial's label.

Regulatory frame, separate from the sequence

Some secondary sources describe a Russian registration history for a finished Semax medicine. That history, where it is accurate, is a finished-product decision in another country. The solid is lyophilized. Moisture and warm holding after Canada Post delivery are the practical risks. Move the sealed vial into controlled storage the same day, and log the lot against the Semax anchor before it enters a study file. This page does not list a solvent volume, a concentration for a well, or a schedule. If a method you already run needs a concentration, take it from that method and from the mass the COA reports, not from a supplier article.

What the study file should contain

Six lines are enough for a second person to audit: shop slug, one-letter sequence, lot or cap, observed mass, purity method, and storage location. Add the PMID only when the experiment is actually replicating that paper's endpoint. A purchasing request that says only "Semax, cognitive" is incomplete until the sequence and the SKU are written down. The glossary does not replace the chromatogram.

Stability extension, kept as chemistry

Authors added Pro-Gly-Pro because the unmodified ACTH(4–10) fragment was described as short-lived in their peptidase assays. That is a chemical rationale for a C-terminal tripeptide. It is not a duration you can copy onto a person, and it is not a storage interval for the dry vial. The lyophilized cake's stability is about water, light, and temperature, which the storage note already covers. The Pro-Gly-Pro story explains why the heptapeptide exists as a synthetic object. It does not replace the observed mass.

If a chromatogram shows a truncated peak near the ACTH tetrapeptide mass, record it as a possible fragment rather than integrating it into the main peak without the report saying so. Short peptides can lose a residue and still look "close" on a crowded trace. The COA reading guide is where integration rules belong. This page only insists that Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro is the string you intended.

Adamax remains a neighbour, not a synonym. If both vials are in the same box, label the secondary tubes with the shop slug before the caps come off. A shared neuroscience category on the cognitive hub is the reason the boxes sit together. It is also the reason the files must not.

A receiving log that names the heptapeptide, the shop slug, and the mass on the Semax row is the minimum file. The Selank endotoxin PDF does not complete a Semax record. The two certificates were published as separate rows for that reason.
