Semax vs Selank: Research Comparison
Research-use notice: This page records catalog differences only: sequences, receptor classes, fill sizes, and Certificate of Analysis rows. It is not a protocol. It is not medical or veterinary advice, and it does not rank materials for personal use. BlueNex Labs materials are research-use only. Research-use-only labeling is not a Health Canada authorization and it does not create a Drug Identification Number.
Semax and Selank are both synthetic heptapeptides, both 10 mg listings, and both sit on the neuroscience shelf. That is why a purchasing office files them together. The sequences are not the same, the literature frames are not the same, and the certificate rows are not the same. This page compares those catalog facts. It is not a protocol, and it does not rank the vials. The sequence notes are What is Semax? and What is Selank?. The shelf is the neuroscience category.
Two heptapeptides that share only a tail
Semax, on this catalog and in the laboratory note, is Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. The N-terminal tetrapeptide matches residues 4–7 of adrenocorticotropic hormone. The C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro is the extension authors added relative to the unmodified ACTH fragment. Eremin and colleagues, in Neurochemical Research in 2005, measured tissue and extracellular monoamine metabolites in rodent striatum after that heptapeptide (PMID 16362768). This page cites the sequence and the paper as a literature locator. It does not copy the animal endpoints onto a lyophilized cake, and it does not turn a metabolite measurement into a catalog claim.
Selank is Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. The first four residues are tuftsin, a fragment of the immunoglobulin G heavy chain. The same Pro-Gly-Pro tail is why the names travel together and why a cropped label is easy to misfile. Semenova and colleagues compared the heptapeptide with the tuftsin tetrapeptide on serotonin metabolism in rats (PMID 19803361). Kozlovskaya and colleagues discussed the heptapeptide in an earlier pharmacology report (PMID 14969422). Those citations identify the chain under discussion. They are not a shared method with Semax, and a tuftsin tetrapeptide paper is not a Selank lot file.
Seven residues versus seven residues is not identity. Met-Glu-His-Phe is not Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg. A calculated mass for one string will fail against the other. Write the full heptapeptide, or the one-letter equivalent the report uses, on the materials line. "Neuropeptide" and "10 mg" do not choose between them. Adamax, when it appears in the same purchasing conversation, is a third sequence. This page does not fold it into either row.
| Record | Semax | Selank |
|---|---|---|
| Sequence or length | Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, ACTH(4-7) plus Pro-Gly-Pro | Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro, tuftsin plus Pro-Gly-Pro |
| Molecular class | Synthetic ACTH-fragment heptapeptide | Synthetic tuftsin-derived heptapeptide |
| Receptor or target class | Discussed in monoamine-metabolite and transcript models; not a second name for Selank | Discussed beside tuftsin in serotonin-metabolism models; not an ACTH fragment |
| Catalog size | 10 mg | 10 mg |
| COA | certificates#semax-10mg, mass and purity only on the September 20, 2026 review | certificates#selank-10mg, mass and purity plus an endotoxin link |
Same fill, different library row
Both product records are 10 mg. Matching milligrams is a purchasing coincidence. It is not a shared chromatogram. On the September 20, 2026 review, the Semax row is a mass and purity link for the blue-cap lot. The Selank row is a mass and purity link and a separate endotoxin link, also a blue cap. Cap colour does not transfer the endotoxin number. A Semax file that lacks an endotoxin line stays a file without that line. Do not paste the Selank unit into the Semax folder, and do not drop the denominator if you copy a number into a notebook.
How to read a peptide COA still splits area percent from mass. Area percent is purity under the stated method. Mass is the identity check against the heptapeptide you named. A truncated peak near an ACTH tetrapeptide mass, if the Semax trace shows one, is a possible fragment. It is not a reason to call the vial Selank. A peak near the tuftsin tetrapeptide mass is not Semax. Purity versus identity is the short version of that split. Amino-acid residue is why seven is not a class.
What the study file should name
Write the shop slug, the heptapeptide string, the 10 mg fill, the lot, the observed mass, and whether an endotoxin link existed. If the request says only "the cognitive pair," send it back. Sold-out status on either card is inventory. It does not change the sequence, and it does not create a backorder. A DSIP listing on the same shelf is a nonapeptide with its own note. Do not borrow a Semax or Selank PDF for it.
The solids are lyophilized. Open the parcel the day it arrives and move the sealed vial into controlled storage. Residual water can cleave peptide bonds. This page does not list a solvent volume. The receiving note is peptide storage for Canadian laboratories. The glossary line for the dry format is lyophilized.
A practical check before the vial enters a study file is four strings on one line: shop slug, heptapeptide, 10 mg, and the library anchor you actually opened. If the anchor is the other heptapeptide, stop and open the matching row. Blue caps on both SKUs are a handling coincidence. They are not a batch identity. The public desk is 4309 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC. Labels use a Port Moody PO Box. Put the order number in the Interac message field so payment and parcel stay paired. Those facts are fulfilment. They do not choose Met-Glu-His-Phe over Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg.

Frequently asked questions
- Do Semax and Selank share a sequence because both end in Pro-Gly-Pro?
- No. Both heptapeptides carry a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension. Semax starts from an ACTH fragment, Met-Glu-His-Phe. Selank starts from tuftsin, Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg. The masses are not interchangeable.
- Does the Semax certificate document Selank?
- No. On the September 20, 2026 review, Semax 10 mg has a mass and purity link only. Selank 10 mg has its own mass and purity link plus an endotoxin link. A blue cap on both vials is not a shared lot.
- Is this comparison a protocol for either heptapeptide?
- No. This page is not a protocol. It records sequence, catalog fill, and which library row exists. Solution steps stay in the laboratory SOP.
- Where are the shop URLs?
- Semax 10 mg and Selank 10 mg each have one product path. Price and stock stay on those listings. This page does not merge them into one cart line.
