Cagrilintide vs Semaglutide: Research Comparison

Research-use notice: This page records catalog differences only: sequences, receptor classes, fill sizes, and Certificate of Analysis rows. It is not a protocol. It is not medical or veterinary advice, and it does not rank materials for personal use. BlueNex Labs materials are research-use only. Research-use-only labeling is not a Health Canada authorization and it does not create a Drug Identification Number.

Cagrilintide and semaglutide are often ordered in the same metabolic conversation. They are not the same ligand class, they are not the same fill, and they do not share a certificate. This page keeps the amylin analogue apart from the GLP-1 analogue. The three-way incretin comparison, which also covers tirzepatide and retatrutide, stays at semaglutide, tirzepatide, and retatrutide. Use that page when the question is GLP-1 versus dual versus triple ligand class. Stay here when the question is amylin versus GLP-1. This page is not a protocol.

Two classes on one shelf

Kruse and colleagues described development of cagrilintide as a long-acting amylin analogue in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry in 2021 (PMID 34288673). Fletcher and colleagues, in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics in 2021, describe AM833, named there as cagrilintide, as a lipidated amylin analogue studied at amylin receptors and the calcitonin receptor (PMID 33727283). This page cites those descriptions for class. It does not copy cell-assay endpoints onto the 5 mg cake, and it does not invent a residue string. The abstracts used for the laboratory note do not print one. The lot report is the identity record. Leave the sequence line as "see the lot file."

Semaglutide is a different frame. Lau and colleagues, in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry in 2015, described it as a GLP-1 analogue on the GLP-1(7-37) scaffold, with aminoisobutyric acid at position 8, arginine at position 34, and a fatty-diacid derivative on lysine 26 (PMID 26308095). The receptor named in that chemistry is the GLP-1 receptor. Lipidation appears in both stories and does not make the chains the same. An amylin analogue is not a substitution series on GLP-1(7-37). The glossary lines are amylin analogue, GLP-1 receptor, and incretin-receptor ligand. The class page is incretin receptor ligands. The cagrilintide note is the laboratory note. The 2026 map is GLP-1 peptide research in 2026.

Fills and the blank semaglutide cell

Cagrilintide is a single 5 mg listing. Semaglutide lists 10 mg and 20 mg on one path. Those semaglutide fills are separate. A report for one milligram size does not document the other. On the September 20, 2026 review, cagrilintide has a library anchor and semaglutide does not. Absence is a blank cell. It is not permission to attach the cagrilintide PDF because the vials were in one parcel, and it is not permission to attach a tirzepatide or retatrutide file because those papers also mention the GLP-1 receptor. How to read a peptide COA still governs the cagrilintide file that does exist: sample name, the 5 mg size, and the mass the PDF actually prints. If the PDF does not name a residue string, do not reconstruct one from a secondary blog.

Dedicated semaglutide and tirzepatide sequence pages are not this URL. The three-way comparison remains the GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon map. Filing cagrilintide into that map as a fourth incretin substitution would erase the amylin sentence. Write both classes when a parcel contains both vials. The parcel is one shipment. The lots are two.

What to write beside each vial

For cagrilintide write the shop slug, 5 mg, the lot, the report URL, and the class "lipidated amylin analogue." For semaglutide write the shop slug, the milligrams in hand, the lot, and the class "GLP-1 analogue," plus the statement that no library anchor was published on the review date if that is still true when you receive it. "Metabolic peptide" fails both lines. Sold-out status does not change the class and does not create a backorder.

Both solids are lyophilized research materials. Open the parcel the day it arrives. Do not leave it in a vehicle or on a loading dock. This page does not list a solvent volume. Storage practice is peptide storage for Canadian laboratories.

Lipidation is the sentence people use to glue the two names together. It is also the sentence that should force them apart. A fatty-diacid mark on a GLP-1 frame is not the lipid attachment on an amylin analogue, and neither mark is visible from the shop title alone. If the cagrilintide PDF names a mass, copy that mass. If the semaglutide cell is still blank, write the blank. Do not estimate a semaglutide mass from the 2015 paper and file it as a certificate result. The public desk is 4309 Canada Way, Burnaby, BC. Labels use a Port Moody PO Box. One Interac payment can cover both vials. The analytical rows stay two.

Frequently asked questions

Is cagrilintide a GLP-1 analogue like semaglutide?
No. Published descriptions call cagrilintide a lipidated amylin analogue. Semaglutide is described as a GLP-1 analogue. A shared metabolic shelf is not a shared receptor class.
Does this page print a residue string for cagrilintide?
No. The papers cited here do not supply a residue string this catalog is willing to copy. Identity for the 5 mg vial is the lot report. Do not invent a sequence from the product name.
Does the cagrilintide certificate document semaglutide?
No. Cagrilintide 5 mg has a library row. Semaglutide had no library anchor on the September 20, 2026 review. A 10 mg semaglutide file, when one exists, would also not document the 20 mg fill.
Is this comparison a protocol?
No. This page is not a protocol. It separates amylin-class and GLP-1-class catalog records. It does not rank the vials.
