Mitochondrial peptides as a research class

Mitochondrial-derived peptides are short sequences encoded in mitochondrial open reading frames. They are studied as messengers between mitochondrial state and nuclear or systemic pathways. The usual named examples in reviews are Humanin, MOTS-c, and small Humanin-like peptides (SHLPs). That is a research class, not a longevity retail category and not a metabolic-health product line.
What models ask
Papers examine AMPK-related signaling, oxidative-stress markers, apoptosis assays, and metabolic readouts in cells or animals. MOTS-c is often discussed in exercise-physiology and glucose-handling models; Humanin in neuroprotection-style assays. Findings are model-specific. They do not authorize a clinic offering or a weight-management claim on this site.
